Notes: Whilst driving an electrically driven coal-cutter, deceased's assistant saw one of the props, against which the skid was rubbing, move. The machine was stopped and a sprag put up to this prop from the foot of another one, but when the machine, was re-started the prop again moved. The machine, was again stopped and then the roof coal fell and killed deceased. The deputy had inspected the place three times and the under-manager once during the six hours the men had been at work.
