Notes: His tugger caught in the bridle chains of a tub and he was dragged down the incline and crushed by an ascending tram. Mr J.S. Nartin, the inspector remarked "This method of hauling tubs by the girdle and chain is now rare but is still in vogue in the Somerset collieries. It is a barbarous system but the difficulty is how to alter it under existing circumstances. Buried Radstock 13/04/1889.
