Notes: Having finished his shift he was engaged dressing to go out of the mine where the men took off their clothes and where they generally sat back from their work for meals, &c.; While in the act of tying his boots a portion of the side burst off and suddenly and fell upon him causing immediate death. The place was previously looked upon as quite safe by the men some of whom had only a few minutes before dressed there.
